Foreign Ministry spokesperson Konstantinos Koutras stated the following in response to journalists’ questions regarding a reference made today by a member of the Hellenic Parliament to the issue of the name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia:
“Within the framework of the latest meeting of the National Council on Foreign Policy (22 July 2015), the discussions at which are provided for by Law and are confidential, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias asked the representatives of the parties in attendance to send their views regarding the issue of the name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Given that, as of today, there had been no response to Foreign Minister Kotzias’ request, he sent a relevant letter to all of the parties, making the reminder that their responses on this issue are pending.”
