Foreign Ministry spokesperson Konstantinos Koutras stated the following in response to journalists’ questions regarding Greece’s stance on the issue of Iran’s nuclear program:
“From the very outset, Greece supported the recent agreement between the P5+1 group and Iran on the key parameters for a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action Regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran's Nuclear Program.
This framework agreement is an important step towards a comprehensive, final agreement that will contribute substantially to international security and global efforts towards nuclear disarmament.
Greece attaches great importance to the need for constructive commitment from the Iranian side to substantial implementation of the agreement, which will facilitate and accelerate the lifting of the existing sanctions.”
