“The Muslim minority of Thrace, as set down in the Treaty of Lausanne, enjoys equal rights, like all Greek citizens, given that egalitarianism and equality before the law are guaranteed by the Constitution.
Despite its difficulty in doing so, Turkey needs to understand that Treaties must be respected. Unfortunately, however, historical experience and the inexorable reality of numbers show that this was not easy in the past. May an effort be made for the future.”
