Science Diplomacy

Science diplomacy is a part of public diplomacy and is carried out by the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a focus on the Greek diaspora.

The following initiatives of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy fall within this framework:

Conference in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology, titled: “NextGen Technologies: From Climate Innovation to Smart Industry & Energy - Greece at the Crossroads of Global Innovation and Diaspora Engagement.” (Athens, May 22, 2026).

International Symposium on Greece’s role in EU Science Diplomacy (Athens, June 11, 2026), in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation of the Ministry of Development, the European Commission, and EU Science Diplomacy Alliance, with the participation of the Office of the 2027 Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
