Signing of Protocol of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
A Protocol of Cooperation aimed at promoting Greek language, history, and culture, and fostering a joint approach toward the Greek Diaspora, was signed in Athens on Tuesday, January 14 2025. Within the Protocol of Cooperation framework, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens intend to jointly undertake initiatives to promote Greek learning among Diaspora Greeks and philhellenes through Greek language, history and culture educational programmes and actions. Furthermore, synergies in the field of Greek Studies are being promoted through the collaboration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with chairs and centers of Greek Studies abroad.
Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Endeavor Greece
A Memorandum of Cooperation aiming to empower the Greek diaspora in the field of innovation was signed in Athens on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. According to the Memorandum, the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and Endeavor Greece intend to jointly undertake actions to support the initiatives of diaspora Greeks in the field of innovation and the broader networking of the diaspora community both among themselves as well as with the Metropolitan Center.
Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Greek Government and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage - ALIPH
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on April 15, 2025 between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Greek Government, and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH Foundation). The parties share the common goal of protecting and restoring cultural heritage and combating the looting and illicit trafficking of cultural property. With the signing of the Memorandum, Greece and ALIPH renewed for three years the cooperation they initiated in January 2022.
Memorandum of Cooperation between General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and Foundation of the Hellenic World
A Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at promoting Greek tradition, culture, and history, Greek language education, and the Greek creative sector internationally was signed in Athens on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. According to the Memorandum of Cooperation, General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and Foundation of the Hellenic World intend to jointly undertake initiatives to strengthen the outreach of contemporary Greek cultural expression and implement actions to cultivate and preserve elements of Hellenic identity among the younger generations of Diaspora Greeks. In addition, provision is made for the support of cultural and educational initiatives.
Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Cente (EKKOMED)
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on July 24, 2025, with the aim of promoting Greek culture in global networks through the development of audiovisual productions, the use of digital media, the implementation of joint programs, mapping and promoting the Greek creative industry, and the exchange of technical expertise.
The General Secretariat Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and EKOMED intend to jointly undertake initiatives to deepen cultural ties with the Greek diaspora, as well as to promote contemporary creative talent internationally, enhance the attractiveness of Greek cultural products in the investment sector, and promote the Greek audiovisual industry.
Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and Crafting Greece Task Force with the King's Foundation
A Memorandum of Cooperation to establish partnerships in the field of crafts and traditional arts was signed in London on October 16, 2025, between General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and Crafting Greece Task Force with the King’s Foundation. The Memorandum of Cooperation aims to establish cooperation in the field of crafts and traditional arts, with a particular focus on the exchange of know-how, joint development of initiatives, and the creation of comprehensive mechanisms for promoting and showcasing handicraft production at the national and international level. Crafting Greece Task Force operates under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, aiming to promote Greek handcrafted creations through collaborations with organizations, creators, and institutions abroad. The King’s Foundation’s mission is to preserve and revive traditional art and craftsmanship in the United Kingdom and worldwide.
Memorandum of Cooperation between six Greek public administration institutions
A Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at training public sector personnel in addressing contemporary cyber threats was signed in Athens on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, between the General Secretariat for Communication and Information, the Special Secretariat of Foresight, the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy, and the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government. The Memorandum aims to enhance public communication and diplomacy through the training and development of appropriate skills among public administration officers. In this context the signing parties intend, among other things, to jointly undertake initiatives that will promote Greece’s international presence and outreach, as well as cooperation with international organizations and academic institutions for the exchange of expertise and the incorporation of international best practices.
