Promoting Greece's image in the world

The exercise of Public Diplomacy and the promotion of Greece’s national image are carried out through the Greek Authorities abroad. Through the daily dissemination of informative material on the country’s key policies across all sectors, as well as through the distribution of well-documented narratives, Greek Authorities abroad ensure that their interlocutors remain informed about the country’s positions, priorities, and achievements, making effective use of social media platforms and new technologies.

With the objective of promoting and strengthening Greece’s image at both the European and international levels, five foreign-language websites are in operation: Greek News Agenda, Grèce Hebdo, Panorama Griego, Punto Grecia, Griechenland Aktuell, Through these platforms, Greece seeks to project its image to international audiences by highlighting both its traditional comparative advantages —such as culture, tourism, language, literature, history, and the arts— and key aspects of its contemporary profile, including the economy, energy, the digital transformation of the state, research and innovation, investment attraction, and policies addressing climate change.

International Communication, as a core dimension of Public Diplomacy, aims at the continuous, organized, and systematic shaping and strengthening of an image of credibility and trust for the country through targeted initiatives. Some of these have to do with the country's relations with journalists and with the foreign and Diaspora media correspondents accredited in Greece, who are provided with information and offered assistance with administrative procedures and technical support for their work.
