A memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday at the Foreign Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in Caracas, regarding cooperation in the energy sector, within the framework of the further strengthening of cooperation between Greece and Venezuela.
The Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Development Cooperation, Giorgos Tsipras, signed for the Greek side, with Vice Minister for Hydrocarbons Angel Gonzalez signing for the Venezuelan side.
The signing of this Memorandum is the culmination of a five-day visit Mr. G. Tsipras carried out to Caracas, from 28 July to 1 August, during which he had a series of meetings with high-ranking Venezuelan officials, including Foreign Minister Delsy Rodriguez and Oil and Mines Minister Asdrubal Chavez.
In his address during the ceremony, Mr. G. Tsipras noted that the signing of the Memorandum in the Energy Sector is the first step towards strengthening cooperation to the benefit of the two peoples and further deepening of the ties of friendship linking the two countries.
