Hosting of trilateral consultations between Greece, Italy and Albania on the Refugee issue (Athens, 14 April 2016)

On Thursday, 14 April 2016, trilateral consultations will be held at the Foreign Ministry, between Greece, Italy and Albania, on the level of Foreign Ministry and Police officials competent for Migration and Border Management issues.

The purpose of the meeting, which is being held on a Greek initiative, is an exchange of views, and further broadening of prospects for cooperation, on the refugee/migration issue. The subjects to be considered include exchange of information and combating of migrant trafficking rings. Also to be discussed are issues of readmission to countries of origin, as well as Greek and Italian support for Albania in the asylum system sector.
