Speaking on Open TV, with journalist Fay Mavragani, Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis highlighted the Greek government’s determination to close and fortify Greece's borders against organized migrant flows from Turkey.
He also pointed to an organized plan on the part of Turkey to instrumentalize the migration issue.
More specifically, Mr. Varvitsiotis stressed that Mr. Cavusolgu cannot talk of respect for International Law when Turkey does not respect the people it is hosting – people Turkey is exploiting in the worst manner. He added that Turkey is violating and not implementing the EU-Turkey Joint Declaration.
The Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs once again sent Turkey the message that Greece is guarding its borders and will not be transformed into a transit space for irregular migrants, as it was in 2015.
