In evening interviews on 31 March, with Action24 TV’s Giorgos Kouvaras and Blue Sky TV’s Lina Klitou, Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis discussed the government’s efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus, and the need for European solidarity in the fight against COVID-19.
More specifically, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the measures taken immediately on the national level to confront the pandemic, which he described as a personal success for Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and an action universally accepted by citizens and recognized throughout Europe. He added that there is no room for complacency, particularly as Easter approaches.
The Alternate Minister also pointed to the profound identity crisis Europe is experiencing, emphasising the need for an expression of Europe-wide solidarity against a Europe-wide crisis and underscoring the Greek Prime Minister’s push for the issuing of a eurobond.
