Having in mind the obligation to apply the provisions of the Prespes Agreement, the delegations of the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of North Macedonia in the Joint Committee held a substantive debate and established an intensive work plan for achieving commonly accepted solutions, based on the principles and objectives of UNESCO and the Council of Europe on this matter.
Working in a collegial and constructive atmosphere, the two delegations paid due attention to the issue of curricula and textbooks that are currently in use, and decided their harmonization according to the spirit and the letter of the Prespes Agreement.
Therefore, it was decided that the next meeting of this Committee will be held in Athens, April 12-13, and will have the task to further advance the work achieved at this Second Meeting and to formulate recommendations for future approval, by the High Level Cooperation Council.
The second meeting confirmed the decisive commitment of the members of the Joint Committee, to the new generations in both countries and the region to be educated in the spirit of European values of solidarity, trust and mutual cooperation.
