Joint Statement on the Fifth meeting of the Joint Interdisciplinary Committee of Experts (JICE) for historical, archaeological and educational issues, established in accordance with article 8 para 5 of the Prespes Agreement (19 October 2020)

On Monday, 19th October 2020, the Fifth meeting of the JICE was held online, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, in a collegial and constructive atmosphere.

After getting to know each other, the two delegations confirmed the Agreed Minutes of the previous four Sessions of the Committee and exchanged information regarding the pending issues on curricula, schoolbooks and the relevant auxiliary material of the two countries.

Both sides agreed to carry on with the implementation of the mandate assigned to them by the Prespes Agreement in accordance with the principles and aims of UNESCO and the Council of Europe.

The two delegations agreed that their next meeting should be held as soon as possible, preferably in November 2020.
