In the framework of the celebration of the National Holiday of 28 October, an official Memorial Ceremony will be held in Honour of the Greek Soldiers who fell during the Greco-Italian War (1940-1941), at 10:00 on Monday, 28 October 2019, at the Military Cemetery of Këlcyrë, and at 12:45 at the Historic Military Cemetery of Bularat.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diaspora Greeks, Antonis Diamataris, representing the Greek government, will address the ceremony in Këlcyrë and deliver a speech at the Historic Military Cemetery of Bularat. The events will also be attended by the Greek Ambassador to Albania, Sofia Filippidou.
The Ceremony will be held in cooperation with the Albania, as provided for in the Greek-Albanian inter-state Agreement on “Seeking, Disinterring, Identifying and Burying the Greek soldiers who fell in military operations in Albania in 1940-1941, and construction of cemeteries on Albanian territory for their burial”.
At 10:00 on Saturday, 26 October 2019, at the Holy Church of the Dormition in the village of Boboshticë, the Greek Consulate General in Korçë will hold an event marking the National Holiday of 28 October.
