Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis’ schedule of contacts in the framework of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (New York, Thursday 26.09.2024)

Today, Thursday, September 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis will address a high-level open session of the Security Council on "Maintenance of the international peace and security: Leadership for Peace".

Subsequently, the Minister will attend the meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.

Mr. Gerapetritis will then participate in a ministerial meeting addressing the situation in Gaza and the broader peace efforts in the Middle East. The meeting is co-hosted by the League of Arab States/Organization of Islamic Cooperation Contact Group on Gaza, Norway and the European Union.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs will subsequently participate in the trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Republic of Cyprus and Jordan. He will also hold a separate bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Jordan, followed by meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.

Additionally, the Minister will participate in the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) meeting, which will focus on enhancing competitiveness.

He will then join a quadripartite meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, member states of the European Union and the SEECP.

Furthermore, Mr. Gerapetritis will hold meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Argentina and Senegal.

Subsequently, he will meet with the leadership of the American Jewish Committee and the World Jewish Congress.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs' schedule at the 79th United Nations General Assembly will conclude on the evening of Thursday, September 26, with the Prime Minister's address to the UN General Assembly session.
