Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will travel to Berlin tomorrow, Thursday, 27 August, to participate in the Informal ‘Gymnich’ Meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
The talks will focus on the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean in light of Turkey’s escalating violations of international legality in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Ministers will also look at the situation in Belarus, EU-Russia relations and the geopolitical repercussions of the pandemic.
Before the proceedings of the informal Council meeting open, the Ministers of Foreign affairs will attend a working luncheon with their Israeli counterpart, Gabi Ashkenazi, to exchange views on the Middle East peace process and EU-Israel relations.
On Friday, during the informal working luncheon, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs will focus on the European Union’s role on the international stage.
On the margins of the Council meeting, on the morning of Thursday, 27 August, Nikos Dendias will meet with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg.
