Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will hold a meeting in Athens tomorrow, Friday, May 20, 2022, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, Vincent Biruta, in the context of the latter’s visit to Greece.
Mr. Biruta is returning Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias’ visit, to Rwanda, on 4-5 November 2021. During that visit, two Memoranda of Understanding were signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, the first one on Political Consultations and the second in the field of Diplomatic Training.
The two Ministers will have a one-on-one meeting, which will be followed by expanded talks.
Joint statements to the press are expected to take place at approximately 12:50.
Talks between the two Foreign Ministers are expected to focus on developing bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas, including economy, investment, and culture, as well as on the EU-Rwanda relations, and on current international and regional developments, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine and developments in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda’s visit to Greece is part of the effort to intensify our country’s contacts with Sub-Saharan Africa states, in light of the upgrade of the Greek presence in the region.
