On Wednesday, 22 April, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will participate via teleconference, from Athens, in a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC).
During the Council proceedings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will raise the issue of Turkey’s escalating illegal conduct towards Greece, while there will also be a discussion on Turkey's ongoing illegal activities in Cyprus’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
The Foreign Ministers’ talks will also focus on the critical humanitarian situation in Libya and the potential for EU assistance aimed at stabilising the country, including the deployment of the EUNAVFOR MED Irini operation.
Also to be discussed are the course of the reform process in Ukraine and related EU assistance, and recent developments in Afghanistan following the signing of the U.S.-Taliban peace agreement.
Finally, there will be an exchange of views on EU assistance for countries of Eastern Europe and the southern Caucasus – members of the Eastern Partnership – in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
