At 11:00 on Tuesday, May 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will participate, from Athens, in a videoconference of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of EU countries in the region and of the Western Balkan countries.
The videoconference, which is being held at the initiative of Greece and North Macedonia and as a follow-up to the February 2020 Thessaloniki Conference, is expected to focus on regional cooperation among the countries of the region and coordination of future actions in view of the phased lifting of restrictions imposed due to the pandemic.
The Ministers will explore ways to respond to and minimise the effects of these restrictions, through economic support for the countries of the Western Balkans, and to determine the next steps towards lifting travel restrictions and rebooting tourism while safeguarding public health.
