We unequivocally condemn the desecration of the Holocaust Memorial in Thessaloniki. This deplorable act insults the memory of our fellow citizens and of everyone else who fell victim to Nazism and it is a flagrant affront to the values that pervade Greece’s democratic society.
Acts of desecration such as this constitute a sad exception and will never be accepted by the state or the people of Greece. We will continue to fight for more tolerance and for the eradication of racism.
