The Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Giorgos Tsipras, carried out a three-day visit to China (14-16 June 2015).
During his visit, he met with representatives of the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC), which is responsible for planning Chinese investments abroad. During the meeting in question, there was a discussion of the proposed Greek plan for Greek-Chinese cooperation over the coming three years, with emphasis on an investment action plan that the Chinese side is showing great interest in, and which will be further discussed during next month’s scheduled visit of NDRC representatives to Greece.
Mr. G. Tsipras also attended the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Hellenic Maritime Equipment Manufacturers & Exporters (HEMEXPO) and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME). The signing took place at the Ministry of Commerce (MOCOM) of the People’s Republic of China, during a working meeting – attended by Mr. G. Tsipras and Chinese government officials – on the broader subject of strengthening Greek-Chinese strategic cooperation and upgrading the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
