In the framework of the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy's (HDA) activities to strengthen dialogue and exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of diplomatic training, the HDA Director, Ambassador Michalis Diamessis, met in Athens with Mr. Didier Le Bret, Director of the French Diplomatic Academy.
The meeting, which followed up on a previous one held in Paris in November 2024, provided an excellent opportunity for a substantive discussion on the current needs of diplomatic training and the exploration of the prospects for further cooperation between the two Academies. The Deputy Director of the Ministry's Personnel and Administrative Organization Department, Mr. Georgios Alexopoulos attended the meeting, as well.
Mr. Le Bret participated, also, as a keynote speaker at the "Speakers' Corner" - a series of closed discussions initiated by the Ministry's Centre for Foreign Policy Planning (KESEP). During his presentation, Mr. Le Bret discussed the administrative reform in France and the role of the French Diplomatic Academy today.
At the same time, the HDA welcomed a group of young French diplomats who, as part of their initial training at the French Diplomatic Academy, visited Athens. During their visit to the HDA premises, they were informed about the Ministry’s operations and the Greek-French bilateral relations, and had the opportunity to meet with the 29th Promotion of the Greek candidate Embassy Attachés.
