Study Visit of the 29th Promotion of Candidate Embassy Attachés to Cyprus (09-13.12.2024)

 The 29th Promotion of Candidate Embassy Attachés of the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy (HDA) payed a study visit to Cyprus from 9 to 13 December 2024.

Within the framework of the visit, the President of the Republic of Cyprus , Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, the Speaker of the House of Representatives,Ms. Annita Demetriou and the Archbishop of New Justiniana and All Cyprus, Georgios received the Candidate Embassy Attachés and exchanged views about current domestic and international issues.

The programme also included meetings with the Negotiator of the Greek Cypriot side for the Cyprus Issue, Mr.Menelaos Menelaou, as well as with Directorates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.

The HDA visited the UN Secretary-General’s Good Offices Mission and the UNFICYP, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center of the Republic of Cyprus (JRCC), the municipalities of Famagusta (Ammochostos) and Athienou, and key landmarks such as the Tomb of Makedonitissa and the Imprisoned Graves.

Furthermore, the programme included visits to the hideout and Museum of Grigoris Afxentiou, the Cyprus Museum, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Machairas, and the church of Saint Lazarus.

Important meetings were also held at the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus and the Cyprus Centre for Land, Open Seas and Port Security (CyCLOPS), as well as with the Chief of the National Guard, and the Commander and personnel of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK).
