On the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, the Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General, Ambassador Anastassis Mitsialis, summoned to the Foreign Ministry the Turkish Ambassador to Athens, Kerim Uras, to whom he made a demarche regarding the issuing of the illegal Turkish NAVTEX for the carrying out of exploration by the Turkish research vessel Barbaros in areas of the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus, as well as regarding the tension Turkey is causing through its actions in the region.
