The President of the “Greece 2021” Committee, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, met with the Secretary General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad, John Chrysoulakis, who is newly in charge of the Foreign Ministry’s cooperation with the “Greece 2021” Committee.

They discussed promotion of the Committee’s action and events in the context of the celebration of the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution, so that the “Greece 2021” message can be spread throughout the world and to Diaspora Hellenism.

More specifically, the “Greece 2021” Committee President and the Secretary General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad explored the potential for synergies on these actions and on participation of Diaspora Greeks.
Following their meeting, the President of the Committee, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, gave Secretary General John Chrysoulakis the “PROPOMPOS” commemorative medal embossed with “Hellas Reborn,” a work by the folk artist Theophilos Hatzimihail.

The “PROPOMPOS” launched the celebration of the bicentennial of Independence, as it is the first commemorative medal issued by the “Greece 2021” Committee’s Numismatic Programme. It is available exclusively from the Greek state’s first bank, the Bank of Greece, which was founded in 1841.
