Scholarships

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs awards fully funded scholarships for undergraduate and graduate studies at public Greek Higher Education Institutions, which are intended for foreign citizens and expatriates who are permanent residents of third countries.

The scholarship program offers young students the opportunity to study in Greece and become familiar with the Greek language and culture. At the same time, they form part of an international network of Greek-speaking academics and scientists who will apply their knowledge either in their country of origin or in Greece.

Where required, the program also provides for one academic year of free Greek language courses prior to the start of undergraduate studies, in order to obtain a B2-level certificate of proficiency in the Greek language, which is a requirement for enrolment in Greek Higher Education Institutions. The total duration of the scholarship covers the standard duration of study for each program (N+2 years), subject to performance terms and conditions and based on the curriculum and regulations of each University School.
