Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yiannis Loverdos, visited Istanbul on the occasion of the beginning of the new Ecclesiastical Year.
On Tuesday, September 1st, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs attended the Divine Liturgy marking the beginning of the Indiction at the Patriarchal Church of St. George. He was subsequently received by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, to whom he reiterated the Greek state’s unwavering appreciation and continued support for the multifaceted work of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
During this visit, Mr. Loverdos had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Association for the Support of the Greek Community Foundations, representatives of educational organizations, as well as the Education Coordinator. The Deputy Minister concluded his program with a visit at the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul, where he met with members of the Consulate’s staff and was briefed on the work and activities of the Consular Authority.
