The 4th Session of the Joint Interministerial Committee for Economic Cooperation between Greece and the Republic of Korea was held in a cordial atmosphere, today Thursday 14 December 2023, in Athens. The Committee was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy Costas Fragkogiannis and his counterpart Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Korea Kang Jae-kwon.
The Committee was attended by high-ranking officials from the Ministries of Development, Environment and Energy, Labor and Social Security, Rural Development and Food, Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Digital Governance, Culture, Tourism, as well as officials from the National Telecommunications and Posts Commission, the Athens Chamber of Commerce (EBEA) and the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED).
The Committee's work focused on the prospects of strengthening cooperation between Greece and Korea in the fields of information technology, shipping and shipbuilding, energy and RES, agri-food production, culture and tourism.
Remarkable progress has been made on all topics and relevant agreements are expected to be signed in the near future.
Upon conclusion of the works of the 4th Economic Committee, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Enterprise Greece and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) with the aim of strengthening cooperation in investment activities, creating networking opportunities and the stimulation of cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
