As part of the scheduled consultations with the leadership of European countries in preparation for Greece's assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2027, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for European Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, visited Vilnius on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with his Lithuanian counterpart, Sigitas Mitkus, with whom he exchanged views on matters relating to the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as well as on specific organizational issues, given that Lithuania is currently participating, together with Greece and Ireland, in the Presidency Trio.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also visited the Presidential Palace, where he met with the Chief Adviser on Foreign Policy to the President of Lithuania, Asta Skaisgirytė.
