Foreign Ministry spokesman Gregory Delavekouras made the following statement regarding a Turkish Foreign Ministry announcement on the genocide of the Black Sea Greeks:
“19 May is a day of remembrance. It is a day of mourning, etched in the soul of Hellenism.
History cannot be written off or re-written in announcements.
We respect it. It is a symbol for building a future of peace.”
