Beginning his contacts in New York in the framework of the 79th UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis, will participate today, Sunday, September 22, in a Ministerial Working Dinner on the Middle East, attended by Arab and European Foreign Ministers.
On Monday, September 23, Mr. Gerapetritis will attend the Ministerial Meeting of the “Friends of the Western Balkans” informal Group in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans.
The Minister will also participate in a Meeting of the EU Member States Foreign Ministers, whose agenda includes developments in the Middle East and Ukraine. The European Foreign Ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views with Ukraine's new Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha.
On the sidelines of the General Assembly, Mr. Gerapetritis will hold separate bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Bahrain, Bolivia, North Macedonia, and Saudi Arabia.
In view of Greece's two-year term (2025-2026) as an elected member of the UN Security Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will attend a Ministerial-level Working Dinner for the coordination of actions among elected and newly-elected members (Greece, Denmark, Pakistan, Panama, Somalia) of the Security Council (E10 + I5).
