Today, Wednesday, September 25, Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis will hold meetings with the Secretary-General of the Arab League as well as with the Commissioner General of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East). The discussions will primarily focus on the war in Gaza and the crisis in the Middle East.
The Minister will participate in the meeting of the Prime Minister with the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
Subsequently, Mr. Gerapetritis will hold a meeting with the UN Secretary General's Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict.
In the context of the General Assembly’s proceedings and in Greece's capacity as an elected member of the Security Council for the 2025-2026 term, Mr. Gerapetritis will meet with the Foreign Minister of China (permanent member of the Security Council). This will be followed by a meeting with the Minister of External Affairs of India.
Additionally, the Minister will hold separate bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Ethiopia, Panama and Serbia.
He will also meet with the leadership of the American Jewish Committee.
Lastly, Mr. Gerapetritis will participate in the G7 Foreign Ministers Meeting on the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
