It is a great pleasure and honour for me to be in Mount Athos today, in my capacity as the responsible Minister. First and foremost, I had the opportunity to express to the Holy Community the Mitsotakis Government's belief that this ark of Orthodoxy is worthy of every support and assistance.
But aside from that, as a pilgrim myself, I had the opportunity to stand in front of Orthodoxy’s monuments, to get in touch with the monks who serve this over a thousand-year-old tradition, and to feel a small part of this long chain.
